l O 5. FOOTWEAR FOR SUPPORT With the possible exception of during calf raises and some yoga or stretching exercises on a mat, wear some sort of footwear at all times. Many leg exercises place tremendous stress on the
supporting soft tissues of the foot region. A good sturdy sneaker (crosstrainers will offer more support than runners) will offer a great deal of support to this region. Even on exercises such as bench presses you'll be using your feet for stability. The last thing you want is for your foot to slip along the floor during a set of flat barbel! presses.
